Those Angry Birds are finally getting a second movie following the success of the first outing in 2016 - and now we're learning a little more about who will be lending their voices to the big project.

The movie is planned to land in cinemas in September 2019, and it's been confirmed that now Saturday Night Live star Leslie Jones, This Is Us actor Sterling K.Brown and seven-year-old Brooklynn Prince have all joined the cast.

The original cast from the first movie includes Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Bill Hader, Danny McBride and Peter Dinklage, who are all expected to also feature in the sequel.

Producer John Cohen said: "I'm thrilled about our incredibly talented filmmaking team and the hilarious people we've brought together for the sequel."

The Angry Birds Movie became the second-highest grossing video game adaption of all time following its release two years ago, coming in just behind Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within.

Thurop Van Orman will be directing the sequel along with John Rice. Peter Ackerman is writing the screenplay, while Mary Ellen Bauder co-produces. David Maisel and Catherine Winder are on-board on the project as executive producers.

The Angry Birds Movie 2 will land in theatres September 20th 2019.
