Good Boy, a new horror movie told from a dog's perspective, will land in cinemas on 10 October in the UK and Ireland.

Ben Leonberg's debut film follows a dog that starts to sense paranormal activity in a new home. After moving with owner Todd to an isolated family house in the countryside, the canine protagonist sees glimpses of the previous resident's death, and receives warnings from a long-dead dog.

As Todd begins to be "taken over by a dark influence", reads the synopsis, "his dog must fight against the malevolent forces to save his best friend".

Good Boy premiered at this year's SXSW with mostly positive reactions. It currently has a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes (from 20 reviews), with critics calling it "one of the best horror movies so far this year" (via IndieWire).

Along with the titular good boy (played by Leonberg's own dog, Indy), the human cast includes Shane Jensen and Arielle Friedman.
