Calling all fans of Peaky Blinders as Steven Knight's thriller starring Tom Hardy as the only character on screen is on TV tonight.

Released in 2013, Locke stars Hardy as foreman Ivan Locke, with the film following the character as he drives from Birmingham to London while having a series of phone calls — 36, to be exact.

Written and directed by Knight, Locke airs tonight at 00.15am on Film4 (so the early hours of Friday morning, if you prefer).

For those who'll be out partying or be fast asleep by then, the movie is available to rent and purchase on the usual digital retailers in the UK, including Apple TV, Prime Video and Sky Store.

Viewers based in the US are able to stream Locke on Prime Video, where it's still available for 18 days before leaving the platform.

The film received positive reviews upon release and is currently Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with a rating of 91% out of 216 reviews.

Critics have raved about Hardy's performance as Ivan, with the Toronto Star review praising the "surprisingly engrossing and compelling" story enhanced by "Hardy's great skill as an actor and Knight's finely wrought script".

Elsewhere, Time Out called Locke "tense and troubling", a "masterclass" confirming that small-scale stories "can reverberate with the power of big, universal themes".

Locke airs on Film4 at 00.15am tonight.
