Tigers Are Not Afraid, the acclaimed horror described as "highly original", is now streaming for free in the UK.
The 2017 Mexican film takes place in the world of cartels, with the story following five children as they try to survive amid a dark fairy tale where the ongoing drug war creates more ghosts by the day.
Written and directed by Issa López, who would go on to helm True Detective: Night Country, Tigers Are Not Afraid is now available to stream for free in the UK, with 5 adding the horror film to its streaming service as part of the Shudder Selects collection.
The film received critical acclaim upon its release, and currently has a near-perfect approval rating of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes from 116 reviews. In the site's critical consensus, it was praised for "deftly" combining magical fantasy with "hard-hitting" realism.
"Blending the often frightening surrealism of a child's wild imagination with the blood-splattered realism of the drug cartels, Tigers Are Not Afraid is a highly original horror story made for these times," wrote Houston Chronicle.

"Issa López's poetically haunting fairy-tale Tigers Are Not Afraid addresses Mexico's ongoing drug-related violence with an unblinking brand of social realism," noted Remezcla, while The New York Times dubbed it "appealing" and "pleasingly creepy".
