The Devil Wears Prada sequel, which started production last month, has added 10 new cast members to its A-list line-up.

Joining Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci and Kenneth Branagh, Variety has announced that Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak and Pauline Chalamet have all signed on in undisclosed roles.

Adding to the call sheet, comedian Caleb Hearon and Broadway stars Helen J. Shen and Conrad Ricamora are also slated to appear.

Likewise, Simone Ashley, known for her roles in Bridgerton and Picture This, has confirmed her involvement after re-posting Deadline's casting announcement on Instagram.

While the highly anticipated sequel will include several newcomers, fans can also expect to see a few familiar faces, including Tracie Thoms, who is back as Andy's handbag-obsessed friend Lily, not to mention Tibor Feldman, who portrayed Elias-Clark chairman Irv Ravitz in the first film.

Absent from the sequel, however, will be Adrian Grenier. The actor, who famously played Andy's (Hathaway) boyfriend, Nate, is not expected to return, according to Entertainment Weekly.

While his character's fate is unknown, Nate has likely been written out, given that the first instalment ended with him splitting from Andy and accepting a job in Boston.

For the time being, details surrounding The Devil Wears Prada 2 are being kept under wraps, however, the movie is scheduled to premiere on 1 May 2026. David Frankel, who directed the 2006 film, will be back at the helm, with original screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna penning the screenplay.

Currently, 20th Century Studios has yet to confirm the plot, but the sequel is expected to follow Miranda Priestly (Streep) as she struggles with the decline of magazine publishing while clashing with her former assistant Emily Charlton (Blunt), who has since become a powerful executive at a luxury advertising company.

The Devil Wears Prada sequel will be released on 1 May 2026.
