Gird your loins! The Devil Wears Prada 2 has officially started production, with 20th Century Pictures confirming the news.
The sequel, slated to premiere in May 2026, will mark a momentous reunion for Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci, all of whom are reprising their roles.
Missing from the cast, however, will be Adrian Grenier – aka Andy's (Hathaway) boyfriend Nate.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the actor will not appear in the sequel, though his character's fate is yet to be determined.
Nate was preparing to leave New York by the end of the first film in 2006, so his relocation to Boston could serve as the reason for his absence.

Andy and Nate had called time on their relationship after endless arguments, but later made amends before Andy headed to a job interview at a newspaper.
While their final meeting hinted at a possible romantic reconciliation, Grenier's exit from the franchise suggests otherwise.
Currently, details surrounding the sequel are being kept under lock and key. However, fans have learned that David Frankel, the film's original director, is back at the helm, as is screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna.

Meanwhile, Oscar-winning actor and director Kenneth Branagh has signed on to play Miranda Priestly's (Streep) husband.
As for the plot, the film is expected to follow editor-in-chief Miranda as she contends with the decline of magazine publishing while clashing with her former assistant Emily Charlton (Blunt), who has since become a major player at a luxury advertising company.
In June, Blunt joked with Entertainment Tonight that she and Streep are always "so mean to each other in every movie [they] do".
"We always have beef with each other. I don't know what it is. Let's hope we remedy it. I'm not sure," she said.
The Devil Wears Prada sequel will be released on 1 May 2026.
