M3GAN 2.0 is out in cinemas this week, so if you want to rewatch the original, we've got good news.

Titled M3GAN, the 2023 film is now streaming for free in the UK via Channel 4's streaming service, after the broadcaster aired it over the weekend.

It follows a doll with advanced artificial intelligence who is designed to be the best friend of a lonely young girl. When the titular doll develops an obsessive attachment, she decides to kill anyone who gets in the way of their friendship.

M3GAN was well-liked across the board by critics, with 93% of the 317 reviews collected on Rotten Tomatoes giving the film a positive write-up.

Although billed as a science-fiction horror, the film took a humorous approach to the subject matter of artificial intelligence, and it was the blend of silliness and black comedy that reviewers ended up loving.

What to Read Next

It's no surprise then that the sequel, which features M3GAN trying to stop a rival android that's even deadlier than she is, is really leaning into those aspects (at least, from what we've seen in the marketing).

M3GAN's respective physical and voice actors, Amie Donald and Jenna Davies, are both back for the sequel, as are Allison Williams as doll creator Gemma, Violet McGraw as Cady, and Brian Jordan Alvarez as Cole.

Meanwhile, a M3GAN spin-off titled SOULM8TE is set for next year.

Instead of focusing on the bond between a little girl and her homicidal doll, it will focus on a recently-divorced man and his sex robot.

M3GAN 2.0 will be released in cinemas this Friday (27 June), while the first can be streamed free on Channel 4.
