Jonathan Bailey has revealed a change for Elphaba and Fiyero in Wicked 2.
The upcoming sequel, titled Wicked: For Good, will see the star return as the charming prince, alongside Cynthia Erivo (Elphaba) and Ariana Grande (Glinda).
"Elphaba, now demonised as The Wicked Witch of the West, lives in exile, hidden within the Ozian forest while continuing her fight for the freedom of Oz's silenced Animals and desperately trying to expose the truth she knows about The Wizard," reads the official synopsis.
"As an angry mob rises against the Wicked Witch, Glinda and Elphaba will need to come together one final time. With their singular friendship now the fulcrum of their futures, they will need to truly see each other, with honesty and empathy, if they are to change themselves, and all of Oz, for good."

In an interview with GQ, Bailey teased that the movie will be "darker" than its predecessor, sharing: "I've got a sense it's going to go there politically as well." He added that Fiyero's arc "really kicks off" in the sequel, teasing a big transformation for his character by the end.
Wicked is adapted from the stage production of the same name, with the sequel set to follow the events of Act II. However, according to Bailey, For Good will also feature "lots of new stuff" to immerse the audience.

"When [Fiyero] leaves with Elphaba and they go to her lair where she's staying – on stage you just accept that she's living in a pit of dry ice, but in the film it's really beautifully realised and thought out by the departments and Cynthia and me."
Meanwhile, the story will also focus on Glinda and Fiyero's relationship, highlighting just how much Fiyero gives up in a bid to follow his heart.
"Fiyero sacrifices and utilises his power and control and command of the army…" explained Bailey, before laughing: "I can't believe we're talking really earnestly about this."
