The Mist, one of the bleakest horror movies of all time, is now available to stream for free in the UK.

Based on Stephen King's 1980 novella of the same name, the 2007 film centres on a father and son who become trapped in a supermarket when a mysterious mist suddenly engulfs their entire town, bringing along bloodthirsty creatures that devour anyone who dares to venture outside.

The film, which is directed by The Walking Dead's Frank Darabont, stars Thomas Jane, Marcia Gay Harden, Laurie Holden, Andre Braugher and Toby Jones.

If you fancy a rewatch or have never seen it, The Mist is now available to watch for free on Tubi in the UK after being added to the ad-supported streaming service today.

The Mist received positive reception from critics, earning it a solid score of 73% from 150 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.

"Frank Darabont's impressive camerawork and politically incisive script make The Mist is a truly frightening experience," reads the site's critical consensus.

The Mist isn't the only horror movie added Tubi today, as it's been joined by the 12th film in the Halloween franchise, Halloween Kills, Paul Bettany's 2011 horror movie Priest, coming-of-age body horror Raw, 1999 police procedural Resurrection, and all films in the Resident Evil franchise bar the seventh.

Ahead of the new sequel premiering in July, classic '90s slasher I Know What You Did Last Summer has also been added to the streaming service.
