Cineworld has issued a warning to UK movie fans as part of a special screenings announcement.

The cinema chain announced that the hugely-popular A Minecraft Movie will be shown in 4DX this Sunday (April 13), and fans are encouraged to "whoop, yelp, clap, shout Chicken Jockey, and dress up as their favourite Minecraft characters" as they watch along.

However, both the official website and social media posts have stressed that fans are not allowed to throw things or make a mess, and are especially prohibited from filming while the movie is playing.

"That's piracy, folks," the chain explained.

Fans' enthusiasm for A Minecraft Movie extends beyond its huge opening weekend that smashed expectations and has already made it the year's fourth-biggest film.

There have been plenty of reports of fans cheering, clapping and shouting out dialogue in time with the characters.

When the Chicken Jockey appears on screen, fans have been throwing popcorn around, which people have been filming and sharing on TikTok as part of a trend.

The ways audiences act during A Minecraft Movie has been compared to the likes of The Rocky Picture Show and The Room, which also have people quoting the dialogue and throwing things around.

The difference is, those films have specific screenings intended for audience participation, whereas A Minecraft Movie is being screened multiple times a day for general audiences.

Because of that, there have been reports of people being annoyed by the lively audiences, and cinemas putting up signs to warn people against 'disruptive' behaviour.

The harmless fun/anti-social behaviour debate isn't stopping the studio from already discussing a sequel though, with director Jared Hess teasing that the post-credits scene voice cameo could play a big part in it.

A Minecraft Movie is in cinemas now.
