Rosamund Pike has shared a particularly awkward moment she experienced during a sex scene with Pierce Brosnan while filming James Bond.

The Saltburn actor appeared in the 2002 Bond film Die Another Day as Miranda Frost, a traitorous MI6 agent secretly working with diamond magnate Gustav Graves (Toby Stephens).

It was Pike's first major film role after various TV appearances, and the Bond girl certainly has a few stories from her time on set, which she shared with David Tennant during the most recent episode of his podcast.

"The time when we were doing the love scene, and obviously I discovered things like nipple covers and all the taping," she explained.

While filming on a bed "covered in furs", she continued: "We have this clinch, and then we separate, and I look at this body tape and the nipple covers and they're covered in hair. I think, 'Oh my God, I'm waxing Pierce's chest.'"

Pike described Brosnan as "an absolute gent" who "couldn't have been more supportive or kind" while filming Die Another Day, the 20th film in the James Bond franchise.

The star's revelation comes as rumours as to who will play the next Bond continue to heat up after Daniel Craig quit the franchise in 2021.

Rumoured names for the coveted 007 role include Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Theo James, Henry Cavill, and even Brosnan with some speculating he could make a return.

Speaking to Today, the actor said he wouldn't rule his name out in the running, saying: "Let’s see where the wind takes us. Let’s see what happens. They know where to find me. Why not?"

Brosnan additionally thinks he could "get away with" playing Bond again "in a pinch", but only time will tell who will step into the famous tuxedo for the eagerly anticipated film.
