Ethan Hawke collaborates with Gattaca director Andrew Niccol for the third time in this week's morally complex drama Good Kill.

The actor, who plays a former pilot struggling to adjust to his new responsibilities in the controversial US drone program, told Digital Spy that he was drawn to the role in part because of Niccol's genre pedigree.

"That's what makes Andrew the perfect director for it - it's a contemporary issue that almost feels like science fiction," Hawke explained.

Good Kill is released in the UK this Friday (April 10), and in the US on May 15.
