Chris Pratt has confirmed whether Star-Lord will return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe ahead of the release of Avengers 5 and 6.
Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Pratt said his character from the Guardians of the Galaxy movies would return to the MCU, though he couldn't reveal exactly when.
Titled Avengers: Doomsday, the fifth instalment sees Robert Downey Jr. return to the MCU, not as Iron Man, but in the new role of Victor Von Doom, aka Doctor Doom.

"New mask, same task," he said following the surprise announcement at Marvel's Comic-Con panel last year. "I like playing complicated characters."
The Russo brothers are also set to return to the MCU to direct Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars, having previously directed 2018's Avengers: Infinity War and 2019's Avengers: Endgame.

Also returning for both movies are the casts of Captain America: Brave New World, The Fantastic Four, and Thunderbolts*.
Considering all of the big announcements, fans have naturally been left speculating whether Pratt would be making an appearance given that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. III concluded with a teaser promising his return.

Appearing on the chat show, Kimmel asked Pratt: "Is this something you can share with us? Will Star-Lord be a part of this?"
"For people who know the Marvel world, we did Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. III, it was the last time you saw Star-Lord in there," Pratt responded. "There was a promise that Star-Lord would return.
"So all I can say is we will make good on that promise," Pratt confirmed. "I feel like there’s a Marvel sniper somewhere," he quipped.
While Pratt didn't confirm whether or not he would be returning as Star-Lord for Avengers: Doomsday, it's good news for fans as we now know he will definitely be back.
Avengers: Doomsday is released in cinemas on May 1, 2026.
