Jude Law's 2024 film The Order has finally become a hit after being added to Prime Video last week.

The film features the Sherlock Holmes actor as an FBI agent who goes after a white supremacist terrorist group in 1980s America, with Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan, and Jurnee Smollett among the other cast members.

The film received strong reviews, with a 92% positive review score on Rotten Tomatoes from 148 reviews, and a critical consensus that reads: "A stoic Jude Law and diabolically good Nicholas Hoult turn the tides of history in this grippingly intense thrill ride."

Despite all the praise the film has received, The Order flew under the radar due to a limited theatrical release in December. Last Thursday (February 6) it was added to Prime Video, and seems to have now found a wider audience.

According to tracker site FlixPatrol, the film is currently second place on the biggest movies list for the service (which uses a system called 'Popularity Points, explained here).

2024 also saw Jude Law star in the Disney+ Star Wars series Skeleton Crew, which wasn't received quite as well as The Order.

Digital Spy's own review of the show reads: "On paper, it's a totally passable instalment in the Star Wars franchise for young fans – and might even be a nice entry point for those who don't know the ins and outs of the Skywalker Saga.

"But even that tepid endorsement comes with a major caveat – namely, everything you see in Skeleton Crew has been done a thousand times before."

Looking ahead, Law is set to play Vladimir Putin in director Olivier Assayas' upcoming movie The Wizard of the Kremlin, chronicling the Russian leader's early days in his career.

The Order is available for Prime Video subscribers to stream now.
