Josh Hartnett's 1998 horror movie The Faculty is getting a remake.
The cult favourite, which is written by Scream's Kevin Williamson and directed by Robert Rodriguez, follows a group of students who begin to suspect that the teachers at their high school are hiding a deadly secret.
According to Variety, Rodriguez is set produce a remake of The Faculty for Miramax, while Companion director Drew Hancock is attached to write the script.
Further details, including who will star in the film and who will direct, haven't been announced yet.

As well as Hartnett, the original film stars Elijah Wood, Jordana Brewster, Clea DuVall, Famke Janssen, Salma Hayek, Shawn Hatosy and Usher.

Fans will next be able to see Hartnett on screen in Sky Cinema's upcoming action film Fight or Flight, which follows a mercenary who is tasked with tracking down a target on a plane.
However, he soon turns into the target's protector when they're both surrounded by people trying to kill them.
Other cast members include Bridgerton's Charithra Chandran, Shadow and Bone's Julian Kostov, Battlestar Galactica's Katee Sackhoff and John Wick: Chapter 4's Marko Zaror.

The Faculty isn't the only classic '90s horror film getting the reboot treatment, as a remake of The Blair Witch Project was announced last year.
Blumhouse and Lionsgate will remake the 1999 horror film, which was credited for reviving the found footage genre and inspiring films such as Paranormal Activity and Cloverfield.
A legacy sequel to 1997 horror film I Know What You Did Last Summer is also in the works, with Riverdale's Camila Mendes, Outer Banks' Madelyn Cline, Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers and Jonah Hauer-King set to star.
The upcoming film will also see the return of Freddie Prinze Jr as Ray Bronson.
