The stars of the film - except for that 'tache - sat down with Digital Spy to discuss comedy heroes, why their off-screen friendship paid dividends and how the facial hair played gooseberry.
Gwyneth Paltrow, Ewan McGregor, Jeff Goldblum and Olivia Munn round out the cast for Mortdecai, which is directed by Jurassic Park and Spider-Man writer Koepp. Depp and Koepp previously worked together on the 2004 film Secret Window.
Mortdecai opens in cinemas on January 23.
