DJ Caruso could be in line to direct GI Joe 3.
The I Am Number Four director is in early negotiations with Paramount, Deadline reports.
If Caruso does sign on to direct, the Disturbia filmmaker would work alongside Dwayne Johnson.
The Fast and Furious actor is said to be the headlining star of the third installment.
Jon M. Chu directed the first sequel GI Joe: Retaliation, which grossed $372 million worldwide.
Caruso is currently filming the upcoming release The Disappointments Room, starring Kate Beckinsale and Lucas Till.
