Samuel L Jackson and Michael Madsen have taken part in a reading of Quentin Tarantino's axed script The Hateful Eight.

Bruce Dern, Tim Roth, Kurt Russell and Amber Tamblyn also took part in the event in Los Angeles.

The drama apparently sees a mismatched group of outlaws stranded in a saloon after a blizzard diverts a stagecoach from its route.

Django Unchained star Jackson and Death Proof's Russell played a pair of duelling bounty hunters while Reservoir Dogs actor Madsen read the part of a cowboy.

According to BBC News, Tarantino told the audience of 1,200 that he was still working on a second draft of the script.

What to Read Next

The Hateful Eight was tipped to be the director's next Western movie, but Tarantino was shelved the project after the script was leaked in January.

At the time, Tarantino said he was "very, very depressed" about the incident, adding that the "betrayal" has left him with "no desire" to make the film.
