Enola Holmes 3 is coming to Netflix this week, and if you're one of the fans that have been waiting for four years for the return of Sherlock's little sister, then at least the wait is finally over.
In June 2025, Brown shared the exciting news that filming had wrapped on the eagerly-awaited threequel, which entered production in April 2025 as some major cast returns were confirmed.
Before it lands on Netflix, here's everything you need to know about Enola Holmes 3.
Enola Holmes 3 release date: What time will Enola Holmes 3 be released on Netflix?
Enola Holmes 3 will be released on Netflix on Wednesday 1 July, and will be available to watch from 8am UK time (midnight PT and 3am ET in the US).
The previous two movies arrived in September 2020 and November 2022, respectively, so the July release is slightly earlier than expected which is a nice bonus.
The new movie filmed from April-June 2025 in the UK and Malta, and has a confirmed runtime of 105 minutes, which makes it the shortest Enola Holmes movie to date.

Netflix didn't keep us waiting for long as fans were treated to the full trailer for Enola Holmes 3 on 9 June.

Enola Holmes 3 cast: Who's back for Enola Holmes 3?
It wouldn't be an Enola Holmes movie without Millie Bobby Brown as the titular character and, since Brown also produces the series, she's back on the case.
When filming got under way, it was also confirmed that other returnees include Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes, Louis Partridge as Tewkesbury and Helena Bonham Carter as Enola and Sherlock's mother Eudoria.
Sharon Duncan-Brewster is also back in the third movie as she was revealed in the sequel to be playing iconic Sherlock villain Moriarty. As good as Moriarty is, we don't give her much hope facing up against Sherlock and Enola.
Our heroes also now have a familiar Sherlock ally in their corner too, as the sequel's credit scene introduced Himesh Patel as the one-and-only Dr John Watson, who has also been confirmed for the third movie.
The first teaser for the movie also confirmed that Jason Watkins has been added to the cast. We don't know yet exactly who he's playing, but he appears to be close to Tewkesbury as he's seen reassuring him at the altar.
We don't know yet whether Susan Wokoma and Adeel Akhtar will be back as Edith and Lestrade, respectively. Equally, it's unclear whether Sam Claflin will return as Mycroft Holmes after he missed out on the sequel as a result of a schedule conflict.
Behind the scenes, Philip Barantini took over from Harry Bradbeer as director, with Jack Thorne – who wrote the first two movies – returning to write the third instalment in the franchise.
Enola Holmes 3 plot: How does Enola Holmes 2 set up the third movie?
As with the first movie, Enola Holmes 2 wrapped its main mystery up and didn't really leave us on a major cliffhanger to tease the third movie.
In the final moments of the sequel, we see that Moriarty has escaped from prison so we're sure she'll be back to cause havoc in the threequel. At least Enola and Sherlock will now have the help of Dr John Watson too for any mysteries ahead.
The sequel didn't really take any inspiration from Nancy Springer's book series that the movies are inspired by.
While the third book, The Case of the Bizarre Bouquets, does introduce Dr Watson, Moriarty hasn't been featured in the series at all, so we'd imagine that the third movie will again tell its own original story.
That case involves somebody kidnapping Sherlock Holmes, leading to Dr Watson seeking out Enola to solve the case. Unfortunately, it seems to clash with her imminent wedding.
"Adventure chases detective Enola Holmes to Malta, where personal and professional dreams collide in a case more tangled and treacherous than any she has faced before," the official synopsis reads.
"Once she's arrived, Enola is flung into a nest of vipers. As the private detective juggles a new case and the next stages of her relationship with Tewkesbury, the game is truly afoot."
Enola Holmes 3 is released on Netflix on 1 July. Enola Holmes and Enola Holmes 2 are available to watch now on Netflix.
