Blake Lively allegedly wants Scarlett Johansson's role in upcoming science fiction movie Gravity.
According to the New York Daily News, the Gossip Girl actress has approached director Alfonso Cuarón about starring as the female lead opposite Robert Downey Jr.
Gravity centres on two astronauts who must find their way home after an exploding satellite kills all the other crew members on their mission.
Children Of Men director Cuarón's project will be shot in 3D with extensive visual effects and reportedly feature a continuous 20-minute opening shot. Production is expected to begin in the UK shortly.
Lively can next be seen in crime drama The Town with Ben Affleck and Jon Hamm in September, then next year in superhero movie Green Lantern opposite Johansson's husband Ryan Reynolds.
