Thomas Turgoose, or Tommo as he prefers to be called, was hanging out at his local youth club in Grimsby just a couple of years ago when director Shane Meadows plucked him from obscurity. His starring role in gritty drama This Is England resulted in wide acclaim and a best newcomer gong at the BIFA Awards. He re-teams with Meadows for Somers Town, a more whimsical story of a young lad who runs away to London and finds friendship in the unlikely shape of a Polish immigrant (played by Piotr Jagiello).
