Fans of Final Fantasy, do a victory pose - Final Fantasy XV: Kingsglaive has a release date!

The feature length computer-animated film will be released digitally on August 30, which should make those final few weeks until Final Fantasy XV releases on September 30 more bearable.

A Blu-ray and DVD release follows in the US on October 4, while a select few theatres in America will screen the film on August 19, it was revealed during Comic-Con.

In the UK the DVD and Blu-ray will be released on September 30th, the same date as the game.

At the moment, there's no word on whether the UK will have a similar limited theatrical run of the film. When Digital Spy spoke to director Takeshi Nozue, he had the following to say:

"We are mainly looking at digital distribution, but we are working on a number of options for people to get the film in various ways. In Japan, we hope to be doing a cinematic release, and in a number of other countries, too. The distribution of the film is being handled by Sony Pictures."

Kingsglaive tells a story that runs parallel to the upcoming JRPG, and will feature the voices of Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul and Game of Thrones' Lena Headey and Sean Bean.
