American Horror Story star Adina Porter has opened up about the concerns she had before joining new show Paper Girls.
The actress stars in the upcoming Amazon Prime Video adaptation of the sci-fi comic book series, which focuses on a group of young girls who get caught up in a conflict between time travellers.
Speaking to Digital Spy and other press at San Diego Comic-Con, Porter opened up about her process in choosing roles, admitting she always feels concerned that each role may be her last.

"When I auditioned for the piece, I did not do my research beforehand, because I didn't want to get all freaked out – which is my usual," she said.
"I do not Google what the directors, what the writers, have done beforehand, because I did not want to put them up on a pedestal. So I had no idea that Alan Ball won an Oscar when I auditioned for True Blood. He's just another human being, and I'm just going to go in there and do my thing."

Speaking further about learning about Paper Girls, she recalled: "I have a particular guy friend who loves comic books, and when I told him what I was about to do, he was like, 'Woah!'
"I just keep my head down in the given circumstances and make every moment count. So I was beyond grateful to have a job… you think you're never going to work again, and maybe as an actor I always feel like that's my last job. So I'm beyond grateful to be working.
"I remember being in my Airbnb reading and going, 'I have to go back to the script, I have to learn my lines, but one more,'" Porter continued, as she also addressed Prioress, her character in the show.
"Prioress is a smart bitch, she's damn smart. So I was just beyond grateful to – what's the expression? – wet my whistle, or be able to dial it in.
"She's a warrior, and then you're gonna see she's all these other things to get people to talk. They were just like, 'More, Adina! More!' And I was like, 'Alright, we're gonna go for it!'"
American Horror Story airs on FX in the US and Disney+ in the UK. Catch up on series 1-8 on Netflix, with seasons 1-9 available to buy on Amazon Prime Video.
