We'll admit we were a bit skeptical when John Krasinski was announced for Amazon's new Jack Ryan series. 'It's the guy from The Office, how is he going to pull off being a badass?' we thought.

But like when Bryan Cranston went from goofy dad Hal in Malcolm in the Middle to Breaking Bad's Walter White, our cynicism has been proved wrong.

Amazon have uploaded another short teaser video for their new adaptation of the Tom Clancy novels, and we think you'll agree Krasinski pulls off the intensity require to be a rough'n'tough action hero:

In the teaser, Ryan admits that this is his first time doing the whole kidnap and interrogation thing.

Although he maintains a cool and collected demeanour, this scenes hints that Ryan is at the start of his career in the field, but it's something he's been preparing for, as opposed to someone being plonked from obscurity and thrust into the world of CIA espionage.

Previous trailers have indicated the plot might revolve around how money makes its way into the hands of terrorists.

Krasinski inherits the role from Harrison Ford (Patriot Games and Clear and Present Danger), Alec Baldwin (The Hunt for Red October), Ben Affleck (The Sum of All Fears) and Chris Pine (Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit), so no pressure.

His eight-part series as Jack Ryan begins in early 2018, exclusively for Amazon Prime members.
