The O.C. stars Peter Gallagher and Kelly Rowan have taken fans on a trip down memory lane, almost 20 years after the show ended. The actors, who played on-screen couple Sandy and Kirsten Cohen, reunited this weekend to celebrate America's Independence Day.
Taking to Instagram on Friday (3 July), Gallagher shared a sweet picture of him alongside Rowan, with the pair wishing their American followers a special Independence Day.
"Look who came to visit! Kirsten and Sandy are wishing you all a Happy Fourth! and sending you our love. Great to see her, her lovely family and long-time pal. Here's to the next occasion!" he wrote in the caption.

Nostalgic fans were delighted to see the stars back together again, referring to them as "mom and dad". In the comment section on the post, one fan quipped: "Not my parents, but they raised me."
"OMG yes the two best and most iconic TV parents reunite! I hope they got to do some good ol' Yogalates together lol," said another, while a third wrote: "Oh good LORD, this has made me smile infinitely."

Another follower even called for a "special" episode to celebrate the show's legacy, suggesting: "Oh my god. I recently just rewatched the entire show and I still am obsessed. You all should do a special 20 years later episode."
It wasn't just fans of the series who were touched by the reunion, as Rachel Bilson, who played Summer Roberts, commented: "Love you both", with Gallagher replying: "We missed you!"
Tate Donovan, who played Jimmy Cooper, also commented a love heart, while creator and executive producer Josh Schwartz did the same thing.
The O.C. ran for four seasons and 92 episodes between 2003 and 2007, with the drama set in Southern California's Orange County. It explored a range of coming-of-age topics, including awkward crushes, volatile relationships and financial struggles, as well as darker themes.
