High Potential, the “cosy crime-drama” from Drew Goddard, is trending after finding its UK streaming home.

The series, an adaptation of the French-Belgian show HPI, follows Morgan Gillory (Kaitlin Olson), a single mother of three children who works as a cleaner at the Los Angeles Police Department.

Boasting an IQ of 160, Morgan solves a case with her “unconventional mind,” a development that sees her paired up with “no-nonsense” detective Adam Karadec (Daniel Sunjata) as she becomes a consultant for the Major Crimes division.

The Daily Telegraph

“This is cosy crime with an irreverent, impish twist.”

The Times

“It’s the familiarity of the format that forms the foundation of success here. Layer on to that snappy and well-timed humour... and even the occasionally telegraphed plot points can be forgiven.”

The Guardian

“Watch for Olson and to see what heights of absurdity the writers can reach each episode, how much esoteric knowledge they can cram into the plot and still make it work, like jazz musicians riffing to the point of chaos then bringing it safely back home.”

The Age

“A show with a conventional structure but a wonderfully unconventional protagonist, High Potential puts a fun spin on the case-of-the-week murder-mystery.”

Los Angeles Times

“The show is legitimately funny and quite delightful, not the least because both Olson and Morgan seem to be having a good time.”

Financial Times

“Still, a show can do a lot worse than get by on the strength of its star. And after two decades as perhaps the most underexposed member of the Sunny ensemble, it’s nice to see Olson realise her potential as a series lead.”
