SWAT has been cancelled by CBS - again.

The hit procedural drama starring Shemar Moore as Sergeant Daniel 'Hondo' Harrelson was initially cancelled after six seasons in May 2023, though the network reversed the decision just days later and renewed the show for a seventh and final season following strong reactions from fans.

However, in May 2024, SWAT was surprisingly renewed for an eighth season.

Unfortunately for fans, this has now officially been billed as SWAT's final season, which the show's executive producer/showrunner Andrew Dettmann has described as "heartbreaking".
