Suits star Gabriel Macht has addressed his return as Harvey Specter in spin-off series Suits: LA.
The actor played the attorney in all nine seasons of the legal drama, which followed Harvey, Mike Ross (Patrick J Adams) and their associates as they closed cases and lawsuits in New York City.

Despite concluding in 2019, it was announced in 2023 that a spin-off to the show was in development, with Suits: LA being formally unveiled in February 2024. It was later confirmed that Macht would be reprising his role for a guest stint, with the star set to appear in three episodes.
“I'm just doing it for the fans,” he told PEOPLE of his return. “I'm not doing it for me. I've done it 134 times. I'm not doing it for me. I had very little interest in coming back to work as an actor right now because I spent so much time [doing it] and this was my time to really raise my kids.
“[There was] a way to do this where it made sense for my family… and if I could sort of pass the baton to Stephen [Amell] and the cast in LA. If I [could have] anything to do with helping support the show and getting it off [the ground], it’s almost like [giving] a blessing.”

Whilst Macht confirmed that he was yet to film his scenes, the star did share his excitement regarding showrunner Aaron Korsh’s vision for the show, saying: “A couple of the episodes that I've read are really good. They're right in line.
“If you're a fan of the show, you're just going to fall right into it. I've read some scripts, and I see what it is and I understand now how the character of Ted [Black, played by Amell] and Harvey connect. So I'm looking forward to seeing the dynamic between the two.”
Suits: LA premieres on February 23 on NBC.
