Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power's producer Lindsey Weber has addressed the controversy surrounding Galadriel's armour in the Prime Video fantasy series.

Weber spoke about the controversial armour to Digital Spy and other press during the show's panel at San Diego Comic-Con.

Following a fan question at the panel, showrunners were asked to address the highly debated armour choice and the producer explained to fans that the armour they see in the trailer may not actually belong to Galadriel.

"To give a little context, though it is something I don't think the internet has considered yet. It is not actually her armour, it's a gift from someone else," said Weber to the audience.

For those not in the know, many Middle Earth fans were left questioning the choice of design on Morfydd Clark's Galadriel armour following the release of some first-look images.

According to Screen Rant, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Galadriel's armour bears a striking resemblance to the star of the House of Fëanor.

The eight-pointed star would supposedly never be worn by the elf as she has a long-standing feud with the Fëanors.

While producer Lindsey Weber may have cleared this up with her response, fans will still have to wait and see who the armour truly belongs to and how it was gifted to Galadriel.

During the panel, another look at The Rings of Power landed, which showcased Pistol's Anson Boon as one of the physical manifestations of the Dark Lord Sauron.

The most expensive television series ever made will explain how coveting the Rings of Power brought about greed, violence and bloodshed, all in the name of gaining power over Middle-earth.

Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will air on Amazon Prime Video from September 2, 2022.
