Legacies will be bringing back a very familiar face for season 2, as Freya Mikaelson pays a visit.

Riley Voelkel, who starred as Freya for four seasons of The Originals, is guest starring in the sixth episode of the new season, TVGuide.com has confirmed.

No story details have been revealed regarding Freya's appearance, but it seems likely that fans will see Freya reunite with her niece Hope Mikaelson (Danielle Rose Russell).

Freya was last seen in the series finale of The Originals, saying goodbye to Klaus and planning to start a family with Keelin, with Vincent as a surrogate father.

Of course, Hope's fate is currently unclear following her sacrifice during the season 1 finale, when she jumped into Malivore.

Everyone's memories of Hope have been erased, but creator Julie Plec recently said that fans will be getting answers immediately about what's happened to her.

"The mystery of where she is and what happened is actually the way we begin the first episode," Plec said. "Within the first few minutes, we'll see what's become of her. I think it's going to be fun to watch her first realise that she's not dead and, two, realise how she's going to get herself out of this mess that she's made."

Legacies season 2 premieres in the US on Thursday, October 10 at 10pm on The CW.
