The Vampire Diaries stars including Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley have teased the upcoming cast reunion with a viral video.

The duo, alongside Candice King, Michael Trevino, Zach Roerig, Daniel Gillies and Matt Davis, will be taking part in a get-together at a convention in Georgia, where the show was filmed, across December 1 to 3.

Michael Malarkey, Sara Canning, Chris Wood and Kayla Ewell are among other stars confirmed for the event.

To tease the convention appearance, Dobrev uploaded a TikTok video in which the cast pretended to pass her phone between each other, through the magic of editing.

Dobrev started the chain off, followed by Wesley, Kat Graham, King, Ewell, Claire Holt, and Trevino, before landing back on Dobrev. Many of the cast members made suspicious faces, seemingly hinting at all the reunion shenanigans to come.

At the time of writing, the video has amassed over 4 million views.

Ian Somerhalder notably didn't appear in the video, and he isn't appearing at the convention either. He was initially confirmed to be joining his co-stars on stage, but it was announced that he was no longer involved a few months back.

While Somerhalder's absence is disappointing for fans, it's still a really big get-together, and it's the first time that Dobrev is doing a convention appearance in the best part of a decade.

Don't expect there to be any announcement of a new TVD continuation with the cast, either. Beyond Somerhalder having left Hollywood, Wesley stated earlier this year: "I would never do another vampire anything, period, let alone Vampire Diaries.

"Eight years is a long time, and I'm so glad to put that to rest. Eight seasons."

The Vampire Diaries can be streamed in full in the UK on Netflix, Prime Video, and ITVX. US fans can stream via Max or Peacock Premium.
