So, is Kim Kardashian West a feminist or not? It's a question everyone's been debating for a while now.

On the one hand, she's a champion of women's causes, teaches us all to be proud of our bodies with her naked selfies, and stars on a reality show empowering strong women.

On the flip side, Kim herself resisted the 'feminist' label last week during a discussion at the BlogHer 2016 conference in LA.

"Everyone always says, 'Are you a feminist? Then why would you do this or this?' And I don't think that I am," Kim admitted - to the disappointment of many on social media.

However, Kim is now asserting a reluctant feminism in the latest blog for her subscription app.

She begins: "For me, feminist is someone who advocates for the civil and social rights and liberties of all people, regardless of their gender; anyone who believes that women should have the same choices and opportunities as men when it comes to education and employment, their bodies and their lifestyles. Of course I want these things."

However, her problem is that she'd just prefer not to be boxed into any one group at all - be it feminism or a political party or even a being a mother.

"Why do we have to put labels on things? You're Republican, you're Democrat, you're bisexual, you're plus-size, you're poor, you're a criminal, you're a mother, you're a feminist," she wonders.

"I feel that being grouped or labeled can create separation between people who do (or don't) fall into certain categories, when they may actually share many of the same beliefs and goals. It's not about he, she, gay, straight, black, white. The fight for equality is about ALL human beings being treated equally - regardless of gender, sexuality or ethnicity.

"It's simply a personal choice that I don't like the idea of being labeled. I'll always fight for women's rights. Always. I support women to the fullest. But, at the end of the day, no one should feel pressured to be labeled as anything just because they believe in certain things and support certain values or ideals."

Right or wrong, Kim's at least given us something to think about - and it's a nice change from her on-going Celebrity Death Match with public enemy number-one Taylor Swift.
