Love Island viewers have rushed to Jasmine's defense after Casa Amor bombshell Julia made a cutting remark following this Thursday's (2 July) dramatic recoupling, with many accusing the newcomer of being unnecessarily harsh.

This Thursday's episode saw one of the most explosive Casa Amor recouplings of the series as Kavan chose to return to the Villa with Charleen, leaving Jasmine single and vulnerable. The decision came after Kavan spent several days getting to know Charleen away from the main Villa, despite his relationship with her appearing to have unfinished business.

Once the Islanders were reunited, Jasmine wasted little time confronting Kavan in front of host Maya Jama. But once the recoupling was over, it was a comment made Julia - who insulted Jasmine in an attempt to comfort a tearful Charleen - that left viewers fuming.

As the couples began to disperse, Julia walked alongside Charleen, saying: "It was awful, she was a bitch. That was so rude."

One viewer remarked that the insult wasn't warranted, while another fan warned that both Julia and Lorenzo had lost their support as a result. A third viewer, on the other hand, speculated that Julia could have a personal issue with Jasmine due to her past connection with Lorenzo.

This comes after another explosive recoupling, with the fallout of Casa Amor announcing the end of the road for a handful of couples. Along with Kavan, Simba was one of the latest Islanders to have recoupled in a shock move, leaving Angelista single.

During his time in Casa Amor, Simba made the most of his time to explore new connections. However, he quickly moved on to Mara after clashing with Nevaeh, while Angelista remained convinced in the strength of their connection back in the main Villa.

It was in these uneasy conditions that Simba returned alongside Mara, explaining that he still wanted to leave the door open for their connection. The biggest twist came moments later when Nevaeh and Olivia joined everyone in the main Villa, further lifting the lid on the boys' antics.

Still, there were more revelations ahead. While emotions were already running high, Mica was pleased to see Samraj return to the Villa unaccompanied. But the pair shared a difficult conversation later on, when Samraj admitted he hadn't remained fully loyal to her in Casa Amor.

Mica was left in tears by Samraj's admission and stormed off as it appeared that the pair may have more obstacles ahead.

Meanwhile, Simba tried to smooth things over with Angelista, but it was clear the connection was damaged beyond repair as she considered leaving the Villa altogether.

Love Island continues this Friday (3 July) from 9pm on ITV2.
