Love Island contestant George Knight has left the villa just days after making his debut as one of the series' first bombshells. The 28-year-old professional footballer entered the Mallorca villa on Monday (1 June) alongside Yasmin, with the pair immediately tasked with making a major decision that would impact the rest of the islanders.
A spokesperson for the ITV2 dating show confirmed George's departure in a statement to The Sun saying: "For private reasons, George has left the Love Island villa." No further details surrounding his exit have yet been shared, though it has been reported that viewers will not see his exit.

George's exit comes shortly after he played a central role in one of the biggest twists of the series so far. Alongside fellow bombshell Yasmin, he was secretly given the power to choose one boy and one girl to leave the villa after spending 24 hours getting to know the singles.
Hailing from Winchester, George is a defensive midfielder for non-league team Dorking Wanderers FC. He joined the club after playing for Bracknell Town FC and Swindon Town Under 9's, where he first began his football career. He also played for teams like Aldershot and Reading FC.

Upon his arrival on Love Island alongside Yasmin, George had made it clear he was ready to explore his options, saying: "You don’t want to get too deep, too early on. I’m open to getting to know everyone but as weeks go by, figure it out."
He then added: "I play midfield, so maybe I’d go for that. If someone walked in that was straight away my type obviously I’d jump at it."

During his short stint in the villa, George notably grew closer to both Robyn and Mica, even sharing a kiss with the former in recent scenes. But the decision he made with Yasmin eventually led to Ellie and Samraj being dumped from the villa during Wednesday's (3 June) instalment of Love Island.
However, viewers quickly discovered that their journey was far from over.
While George's departure will come as a surprise to viewers, given his recent prominent role in the new series, Ellie and Samraj's fate took an equally unexpected turn following their apparent dumping on Wednesday when they received a text informing them they wouldn't really be leaving the villa.
Instead, they were promised a second chance, with the outcome of their fake elimination set to be revealed this Thursday.
Love Island continues at 9pm on ITV2.
