Love Island season 13 star Jasmine Muller has opened up on a past relationship with a famous footballer ahead of the dating show hitting our screens on 1 June. The fashion business owner from Dubai explained how her past romance with Arsenal defender Héctor Bellerín has informed her views of relationships and what her hopes are for her time in the Villa.

Speaking with Digital Spy and other press, the 27-year-old has reminisced on her relationship with Bellerín, which internet sleuths have found to date back to 2021.

"I think it's so long ago now that I don't think about it on a day-to-day basis," Jasmine said about navigating a relationship in the public eye at a young age.

"But I'm sure that having lived that at such a young age has obviously prepared me, as have other things. I've been in the public eye with an online job since I was 19, so it's been a while of doing a public-facing job, I guess.

"I don't know if that's the right way to put it, but I think I feel prepared, and I feel like I know that people like to talk, and it doesn't really bother me too much."

While she and the Arsenal star ultimately called it quits, Jasmine has still great affection for Bellerín after the two split amicably.

"I mean, I have a lot of time for him. I think we left things on really good terms. There's not really any drama or anything interesting to say about it, because we both just have a lot of love for each other," she said.

"And I think, you know, I'm really excited to hopefully find something again, and something really exciting and honest."

Jasmine admitted to being "lucky" in her previous relationships, which might make her time in the Villa harder as she's looking for a new, meaningful connection.

"I've dated some really great people. I've had very good positive experiences in my past," she said.

"So I think that's also why it's been hard for me, because I'm measuring people to a very high standard from such a young age."

Love Island airs on ITV2 and ITVX, and the new season will launch on 1 June at 9pm.
