When the temperature drops in the UK, the heat rises on reality TV as we get another dose of Love Island. As is customary now, the main series in the franchise airs in the summer, but before then we get Love Island: All Stars in January.

The spin-off sees several familiar faces return to the iconic Villa - albeit in South Africa instead of Spain this time around - for another shot at love (and of course, a chance to win a hefty cash prize).

After months of anticipation, the line-up for the highly-anticipated third season of the spin-off was unveiled last week, with the returning stars including Whitney Adebayo, Jess Harding and Ciaran Davies.

With a premiere date set for tonight, the plans were upended on Saturday (10 January) after wildfires hit the local area in South Africa, with ITV opting to evacuate the production team from the Villa and postpone filming.

So, with the premiere date being pushed back, what is the new schedule for the third season of the reality series?

Why was Love Island: All Stars season 3 delayed?

The show was delayed after wildfires hit the Franschhoek area, which is around 47 miles from Cape Town and where filming takes place. Following reports in major media outlets, it was confirmed that the Villa had been evacuated following safety concerns.

"Further to a production evacuation owing to ongoing wildfires in the area, our assessment of the location site has concluded that filming will need to be postponed," read a statement from ITV.

"Health and safety is our greatest priority and will always come first, and therefore the transmission of Love Island: All Stars will be delayed until a date to be confirmed," the statement continued.

When will Love Island: All Stars season 3 premiere?

Following on from the aforementioned statement from ITV, we still don't know when the third season of the series will begin.

Instead of the launch show airing at 9pm on ITV2, it has been replaced by documentary Love Island: Decade of Love.

The initial cast members that were announced last week included 12 familiar faces from the main series in the franchise, with season 4's Charlie Frederick being the oldest contestant.

Belle Hassan and Leanne Amaning, who appeared in the fifth and sixth seasons respectively, are some of the other 'older' stars in terms of original stints, while season seven has one representative in the shape of Millie Court.

Jack Keating and Shaq Muhammad are the sole figures from the eighth and ninth seasons, while the aforementioned Whitney and Jess are are flying the flag from the popular 10th season.

Ciaran and Sean Stone are from the 11th season, while Helena Ford and Tommy Bradley are back on the series just five months after their stints in the 12th season. Of course, this line-up will likely be expanded after some late arrivals and bombshells!
