The Traitors star Minah Shannon has landed a new job as the presenter of BBC Radio 1's Early Breakfast show.

Rising to fame during this year's series of The Traitors, Minah became a fan favourite in her role as a Traitor before being banished just days ahead of the final.

The breakout star is now set to take over BBC Radio 1's Friday Early Breakfast slot on a monthly rotation.

Starting on Friday 2 May, she will co-host the show with Radio 1's Nat O'Leary for the 5am-7am slot every Friday throughout May (via BBC News).

Speaking about her new role, Minah said: "I am so excited to be presenting every Friday in May on Radio 1's Early Breakfast! I'm hoping to brighten up listeners mornings (or days if you catch up on BBC Sounds).

"Getting to present alongside Nat O'Leary is going to be so much fun. We discovered we both attended the same university and used to hang out in all the same places, so it feels like it was meant to be! If we can give the lovely listeners a laugh, then mission accomplished!"

Nat opened up about Minah joining her for the morning show, saying: "I'm so excited to be joining Minah on Friday Early Breakfast! Minah's energy is electric so I know we're gonna cause some chaos and bring some fun to your Friday early mornings! Can't wait to wake up with you babes!"

During their month as co-hosts, the pair are set to present a special live show to kick off Radio 1's Big Weekend 2025, which will take place in Liverpool on 23 May.

Taking over from Minah in June is radio host Lauren Redfern, who said she was "absolutely buzzing to be taking over the early morning breakfast slot every Friday in June".

The Traitors series 1-3 are streaming on BBC iPlayer. A celebrity spin-off has already been confirmed.
