Strictly Come Dancing star Jamie Borthwick has broken his silence on romance rumours surrounding him and Tasha Ghouri.

The EastEnders and Love Island stars both took part in the 2024 season of the BBC show, though have been subject to recent speculation that they are an item.

However, Jamie has shut down talk of any romance, saying that he and Tasha are good friends.

"You know, there was a lot of opportunity for them to maybe lose me and there was opportunity for me to go elsewhere," he told The Sunday Mirror's Invite Only podcast.

"I've loved every minute of my time at EastEnders. I still love it. It's the people there - they're fantastic."

He added of his major storylines over the years: "Now I'm older, I've realised, 'Wow, I've done all that'.

"The same with Strictly. I watch myself... and think, 'Who is that person?' It's really odd. It's like an out-of-body experience."

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
