The Traitors star Jaz Singh has revealed details about the BBC competition show's thorough application process.
The star became a fan favourite during series two of The Traitors last year, with many of his spot-on theories about who the Traitors were earning him the nickname 'Jazatha Christie' from fans online.
During a new interview with The Sun, Jaz opened up about the show's months-long application process, describing it as "a game before the game".

"I saw something on Instagram saying, 'Traitors series two are looking for Mancunians'. And I'd just started working from home, and I went, 'wait, I'm a Mancunian. Maybe this is my sign'," he began.
"So I literally whacked the application in. It took me about two hours, going from what's your biggest fear, what's your biggest lie, did you ever get away with it? They want to do a psychoanalysis on you inside and out, so they know you before even speaking to you, so they know what questions to present."

Jaz then had to submit a video of himself, in which he told the producers how he interacts with people and likes to "really get into [their] minds".

After receiving an email saying the production team wanted to speak to him, Jaz says he went through "a hundred Zooms, a hundred auditions". Two weeks before filming on series two began, Jaz found out he had been selected for the show.
"You have to get a ton of stuff prepared, how you're going to deliver this information to various family members to keep this a secret, because you're under an NDA (non-disclosure agreement), and they will sue you for hundreds of thousands of pounds of TV damages if this gets leaked," he explained.
"So it is such a tactful process, and then to get on eventually, it's mind-blowing. You are playing the game before you even enter that castle, before you even get a tap on the shoulder, before you put them blindfolds on, before Claudia says 'hello'."
