Scientists have been debating for more than a century about what killed off the dinosaurs — they should have saved themselves lots of time by just asking Philomena Cunk.
The nation's preeminent cultural commentator is back with another round of her BBC Two series Cunk on Britain, which aims to solve some of life's great questions. Like what happened to the dinos, for example.
Tuesday night's premiere (April 3) delved more deeply than any of those nature films by that bloke Dennis Attenborough into the mass extinction of the species, and came away with some truly shocking answers.
Visiting with some of the country's last dinosaurs (including the up-and-down ones like Tyranical Sawdust Rex and the across ones), Philomena pointed out something we should have considered long ago: maybe zoos like Jurassic Park are to blame.
"People wonder why the dinosaurs became extinct, but it's hardly surprising why they went extinct when you see the barbaric conditions they're kept in," Philomena explained. "In zoos such as this one, under-fed, starving. Some of them little more than skeletons."
