The BBC has responded after people made complaints to the broadcaster over a comment made by Naga Munchetty in Carol Kirkwood's final episode.
Carol served as BBC Breakfast's main weather presenter for over 25 years, with her final day being Wednesday, 1 April.
It was an emotional episode, with a bouquet of flowers, a full studio of friends and co-workers, pre-recorded tributes, a montage of embarrassing moments and some tears.

As people gathered on the sofa, Carol talked about how lovely it was to have everyone in the studio to say goodbye, jokingly adding "Even you, Nags!"
In a clearly unserious response, Naga looked at her watch and replied "I'm just waiting for the countdown for you to go", before bursting out into laughter alongside the rest of the Breakfast team.

Naga then proceeded to give what she called "a rare glimpse into me being lovely" to Carol, and shared a specially commissioned drawing by Mr Men illustrator Adam Hargreaves of the weatherwoman as Little Miss Sunshine.
Later on, Naga made a joke about how Carol never shares cakes, which Carol agreed with.
Elsewhere, Matt Taylor made light-hearted jibes about Carol's "really bad jokes" and tea that looks like "baby milk" while, in a pre-recorded tribute, Dan Walker ribbed her, calling her "an absolute nightmare".

Despite the playful nature of the banter between people who have known each other years, viewers did make complaints about the episode to the BBC.
In this fortnightly complaints report, the broadcaster summarised the complaints as stating the episode contained "Offensive treatment of Carol Kirkwood".
The BBC does not publish the number of complaints made if there are fewer than 100, and there is no number for this specific episode.
Furthermore, the report states that the BBC’s Executive Complaints Unit has not upheld the complaints made.
In more serious BBC Breakfast news, it was confirmed this week that the Sunday edition will be dropped and replaced with a News Channel simulcast as part of the latest wave of brutal BBC cuts that will see hundreds of jobs axed.
BBC Breakfast airs weekdays on BBC One.
