Fresh from the success of the second season of Rivals, Emily Atack has landed a major role in a glossy new legal drama from the BBC. And she won't be alone, with several Hollywood heavyweights part of the stacked line-up.
Titled Reputation, the six-part series sees Naomie Harris portray a "formidable" lawyer named Lena, who has her highest-profile case to date as she represents Davina Knight (Christina Hendricks), a "global pop star" who is part of the "celebrity case of the decade".
Billed as an "audacious and glossy new drama", the series begins in the aftermath of a provocative new song from Davina, where she accuses her ex-husband, Billy (Kyle Soller), of abusive behaviour. He angrily retaliates, leading to a very public libel battle.

"The case is fought far beyond the courtroom, as PR machines are deployed, laws are bent and social media platforms become judge, jury and battleground - driving outrage for clicks and warping the truth," reads the logline.
"For Lena, the case puts her own personal life in the line of fire. How far will she go to win and at what cost?" it continues. "And for Davina, how far will she go to protect her reputation?"

The series has been written by Anya Reiss, who is best known for creating Starz's historical drama Becoming Elizabeth. Production, meanwhile, is being handled by The Forge Entertainment.

"I was hooked from page one of Reputation," said Harris, best known for Moonlight and her role in the James Bond series. "It's so rare to read scripts with the wit and flair of Anya's writing, and I knew straight away that I wanted to play Lena."
"Davina's a fantastic, fierce character," added Hendricks, who is known for her role in Mad Men. "I'm so looking forward to working with Naomie and I'm delighted to be working again with The Forge [after The Buccaneers]."
Reputation will air on BBC One and stream on BBC iPlayer.
