Vigil star Shaun Evans has been spotted on the set of This City is Ours. Joining the cast for season two, the actor, whose involvement was confirmed last October, plays former gangster Ozzie Thompson in the Liverpool-set crime drama.
Expected to bring some "villainy" to the show (via Radio Times), Evans's character, who is an ex-associate of Ronnie's (Sean Bean), will demand compensation from the Phelans after being released from prison.
According to the synopsis, "Michael and Diana have barely arrived in Spain when they are dragged back into the fold to answer questions around Ricardo's death. Back in Liverpool, tensions continue to bubble amongst the remaining members of the gang. Meanwhile, an old school gangster from Ronnie's era, recently out of prison, wants compensation from the firm."

Ahead of Evans's debut in the show, James Nelson-Joyce – aka Michael Kavanagh – told Radio Times that the Endeavour star delivers an "amazing" performance as Ozzie.
With season two promising even more drama for the Phelans, Evans isn't the only newcomer on set. Presenting further complications for the family, Álvaro Morte has signed on for season two as Felipe Guzman, the vengeful brother of Colombian cartel member Ricardo (played by Daniel Cerqueira), who was murdered in season one.

Reprising their roles from the first instalment, fans can also expect to see Hannah Onslow, Jack McMullen, Mike Noble, Julie Graham, Saoirse-Monica Jackson, Adam Abbou, Laura Aikman, Kevin Harvey and Darci Shaw in season two.
Confirming that she had recently wrapped filming, Julie Graham, who returns as Ronnie's widow, Elaine Phelan, shared a sneak peek from the set.
"That's a wrap for me on season 2 of This City Is Ours. What a cast, what a crew! I adore my crime family! And Liverpool. You beauty. If you like the show, you are in for a treat!" she told fans on Instagram.
Season two of This City is Ours has yet to receive a release date. Season 1 is streaming now on BBC iPlayer.
