Goggles on, snowboots at the ready, it's time for the Winter Olympics! (You can actually take the goggles off, unless you're competing, in which case best of luck.)
Events began on Wednesday, but Friday (6 February) sees the opening ceremony of the quadrennial festival of winter sports, hosted by the Italian cities of Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo. There are over 850 hours of planned coverage and 116 medal events to enjoy, so how's a snow-lover to navigate this mountain of sport?
Allow us to assist you.
Where can I watch the Winter Olympics?
UK viewers will want to get the most out of their licence fee: the BBC will show 450 hours of coverage over the two weeks between Wed 4 Feb and the closing ceremony on Sunday 22 Feb. Usually alternating during the day between BBC1 and BBC2, the coverage starts at 9am and runs with occasional breaks till 10pm, though the Olympics Extra livestream on iPlayer offers even more for the hardcore fans, from 8am to 11pm.
Clare Balding, Hazel Irvine and Jeanette Kwakye will lead the coverage from the studio, with additional analysis from former Olympians Lizzy Yarnold, Vicky Wright and Montell Douglas.
If you don't want to miss a moment, you could also consider TNT Sports channel. If you don't have TNT among your options, it's also available on the web via the Discovery+ streaming service at a cost of £3.99 per month.
What to Read Next
You can see TNT Sports on Virgin Media, or you can access it via Discovery+ (depending on your subscription model) through Sky, Amazon, Roku and all the other ways to watch TV.
Amy Williams, Aimee Fuller, Ed Drake, Charlie Guest, Lamin Deen and Vicki Chalmers will be among the pundits giving their expert commentary.
