Ant and Dec's nostalgic teen drama Byker Grove has landed a new streaming home in the UK. Set in Newcastle, the series originally aired on BBC One, and followed a group of youngsters from Byker as they hung out at their local youth club, the Grove.
The show ran from 1989-2006 and platformed a range of key social issues impacting young people, including drug addiction, child abuse, homophobia and abortion. It also made history in 1994 when it aired the first gay kiss on UK children's TV, between characters Noddy Fishwick and Gary Hendrix.
Byker Grove is widely credited with helping to launch the careers of iconic presenting duo Ant and Dec, who appeared as beloved characters PJ and Duncan.
Their production company Mitre Studios currently owns the rights to the show and has partnered with ITVX to bring all 18 seasons to the streamer from Sunday 16 November.
"ITV audiences have grown up with Ant & Dec, so we are delighted to whisk viewers all the way back to the moment they first shared the screen together. Enjoy every moment from this iconic coming-of-age series on ITVX this November," said Craig Morris, Director of Channels, ITVX & Acquisitions.

Meanwhile, Byker Grove also launched the careers of The Feud's Jill Halfpenny, The Split's Donna Air, Emmerdale's Charlie Hardwick and Sons of Anarchy's Charlie Hunnam.
Hunnam recently starred in latest instalment of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan's Netflix Monster anthology, which was released on 3 October and saw him portraying serial killer Ed Gein.
Described by Netflix as the "godfather of all serial killers", Gein was responsible for the murders of multiple women in Wisconsin in the 1950s. The police later discovered that he had exhumed and desecrated several corpses from local graveyards.
All 18 seasons of Byker Grove will be available to stream on ITVX from 16 November.
