The Great British Bake Off spoilers follow.

The Great British Bake Off has aired its latest episode, with Leighton becoming the second contestant to be eliminated.

Tonight's episode saw the bakers return to the tent following last week's premiere to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith with their biscuit-making skills.

After an underwhelming series of bakes, it was Leighton's turn to leave the tent. The 59-year-old software delivery manager from Surrey said: "Someone had to go, right?"

He continued: "I had the most fun on Bake Off. I loved it. I had the opportunity and I came up against amazing bakers."

Tom had better luck this episode, being crowned Star Baker after a "faultless" Showstopper. Paul gave the London contestant a rare handshake for his "untouchable" bake.

This week's episode started with the bakers coming up with twelve slice and bake biscuits, which forced them, as Paul put it, to "think in a 3D way".

Biscuit Week continued with the Technical challenge in which Prue tasked the bakers with making chocolate hobnobs.

Toby came in first place for the second week in a row thanks to a "perfect" hobnob. The contestants are already calling him "Techy Toby", while one fan on social media branded him "The Technical King".

For the Showstopper challenge, Paul and Prue asked the bakers to make a "highly decorated biscuit time capsule" filled with at least five edible elements.

The challenge saw Pui Man save herself from sinking in the competition thanks to a "mighty impressive" boat construction, while Aaron delivered "simply delicious" flavours.

Both of them were in danger after the previous two challenges, but ultimately it was Leighton's lack of "finesse" in the Showstopper that tipped the scales.

In next week's episode, the bakers will have to face Bread Week and a new set of challenges, with one more baker saying goodbye to the tent.

The Great British Bake Off airs on Tuesdays on Channel 4.
