A new psychological crime drama, which features a "troubled" detective, is now airing in the UK.
Titled Inspector Gerri, the Italian psychological crime drama follows a charming detective with a painful past named Gregorio Esposito, also known as Gerri.
Described as a "troubled inspector", Gerri must mix his intuition with rule breaking in order to solve cases while also dealing with his own haunting past.
The synopsis reads: "A Romani police inspector in Trani investigates a lawyer's daughter's murder, revealing links to an old case with a Romani victim. His empathy and intuitive methods stem from his foster care past."
Actor Giulio Beranek stars as the protagonist Gerri, a Roma policeman of Sinti origins. He is joined on the cast by Valentina Romani, who stars as deputy inspector Lea Coen.

Directed by Giuseppe Bonito and written by Donatella Diamanti and Sofia Assirelli, the series was first released in Italy earlier this year.
Inspired by Giorgia Lepore's Gerri Esposito novels, the Italian language series is now available to stream on Channel 4, with new episodes dropping every Friday.
Elsewhere on Channel 4, the "stylishly creepy" French thriller Promethea, which has a supernatural twist, is now available to binge watch on the channel's streaming service.
After the titular teenage protagonist, played by Fantine Harduin, is hit by a car, the couple behind the wheel are puzzled to find her naked and unharmed.

Behind the wheel are actors Marie-Josée Croze and Thomas Jouannet, who join Harduin on the cast as headteacher Caroline and doctor Charles, respectively.
The logline reads: "After surviving a car accident, Promethea has no memory, but is haunted by terrifying flashbacks related to an unsolved crime. Was she involved?"
In their review of the French show, The Guardian said: "There is nothing wonderfully new or innovative here, but it is a nicely packaged and paced six hours of solid entertainment. It is a flavoursome binge rather than something to be lingered over and savoured, but who doesn’t have an appetite for that?"
Inspector Gerri and Promethea are streaming on Channel 4.
