Netflix has a new British thriller on the way that you'll want to add to your watch list.
Hostage stars Vigil's Suranne Jones in the role of a fictional British Prime Minister who faces a drastic choice when her husband is kidnapped amid a summit with a French President.
The series comes from Matt Charman, who co-wrote the Oscar-winning movie Bridge of Spies, and counts Jones as an executive producer.
"I’m thrilled to be on Netflix, in something I’m really proud of," the actor previously said. "It’s been something I’ve wanted to do for a long time.
"We’d talked about projects previously, but for me, it was about finding the right thing. Hostage was perfect – me and Matt together, backed up by this brilliant, supportive team. I loved it."

What to Read Next
Charman added that he has "been dying to find the right story to tell with Suranne" and believes "what she’s done with this character is going to blow the Netflix audience away".
"An embattled British PM in the middle of a fight for her country and her family – she’s fierce, ruthless, and you can’t take your eyes off of her," he added.
Speaking further to The Guardian about making the series, Charman praised "how relatable and human" Jones is when he's watching her on screen.
"I thought: ‘OK, if she were prime minister, maybe I would feel differently about political drama. What if we bought ourselves goodwill with someone like Suranne, that would allow an audience just for a second to say: ‘Hang on a minute. Let me hear her out’?” he added.
First look images from the show as well as a trailer have already been released ahead of the show's premiere later in August.
The series is being written by Charman, while The Devil's Hour's Isabelle Sieb and Hanna's Amy Neil are on board as directors across the five episodes.
Foz Allan (Riviera) and Steve Searle (Supacell) will also executive produce, while David Meanti (Andor), Annelie Simmons (Treason) and James Levison (Killing Eve) are credited as producers, with Binocular Productions making the series.
