Netflix's new crime show Dept Q has jumped to the top of the UK trending chart.
Released a few weeks ago, the series follows DCI Carl Morck (Matthew Goode) as he is tasked with starting a new cold case unit after returning to work following a traumatic incident.
The Scotland-set show has now hit the number 1 spot in the UK's Top 10 series, ahead of previously spot-holder Ginny & Georgia season 3 – which was released more recently.
Dept Q has been a streaming success in the trending chart since its premiere in May, proving to be a hit with viewers and critics alike.
Digital Spy said in our three-star verdict that the show "suffers by feeling overstretched", though we added: "In the end, what you're left with is a great cast that has taken a story with tremendous potential and breathed life into it, pushing the show to become what it is: a largely entertaining watch."

Some critics have also compared it to Slow Horses, with the Financial Times calling it "a serviceable new Netflix crime thriller with a title that’s evocative of James Bond, and a premise more than a little reminiscent of Slow Horses".
"Where [Slow Horses] gives James Bond a caustic, kitchen-sink makeover, Dept. Q is in the more formulaic tradition of a downbeat cop caper," added the Irish Times.
The Netflix series is adapted from the Danish Department Q novels by Jussi Adler-Olsen, which have also been turned into a series of acclaimed movies.
Dept Q follows Morck, "a brilliant cop but a terrible colleague" whose "razor-sharp sarcasm has made him no friends in Edinburgh police".

"After a shooting that leaves a young PC dead, and his partner paralysed, he finds himself exiled to the basement and the sole member of Department Q; a newly formed cold case unit," the synopsis continues.
"The department is a PR stunt, there to distract the public from the failures of an under-resourced, failing police force that is glad to see the back of him. But more by accident than design, Carl starts to build a gang of waifs and strays who have everything to prove.
"So, when the stone-cold trail of a prominent civil servant who disappeared several years ago starts to heat up, Carl is back doing what he does best - rattling cages and refusing to take no for an answer."
Alongside Goode, the series stars Line of Duty's Kelly Macdonald and Mark Bonnar, Game of Thrones' Kate Dickie and The Crown's Chloe Pirrie.
Dept Q is streaming now on Netflix.
