The BBC's new Jane Austen series is currently trending on iPlayer following its premiere.

The dramatised documentary Jane Austen: Rise of a Genius aired its first episode on BBC Two on Monday (26 June), with episode two set for the same 10pm time slot next week.

But if you don't want to wait, all three episodes are available to stream now and have been added to the 'New and Trending' section.

Rise of a Genius is a combination of drama and documentary with Bend It Like Beckham's Juliet Stevenson narrating, clips from previous Christie adaptations, and a lot of talking heads, including Friday Night Dinner actor Tamsin Greig, Sense and Sensibility actor Greg Wise, filmmaker Ken Loach, and Bridget Jones writer Helen Fielding.

In the drama segments, Hungarian star Emoke Zsigmond plays the legendary author in segments covering her teenage years and early career, her immense success, and her death at 41.

The BBC is planning a host of programming to celebrate a quarter of a millennium since Austen was born.

BBC Four will be showing various adaptations in June, while Radio 4 will air versions of of Northanger Abbey, Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility in December.

A new 10-part version of The Other Bennet Sister has also been announced.

Jane Austen: Rise of a Genius is airing on Monday nights at 10pm on BBC Two, while all episodes are available to stream on BBC iPlayer now.
